Since October 2013, a new Golden Visa, otherwise known as a Schengen Golden Visa, allows Spanish residency for non-EU citizens.

So what?

  • Travel freely throughout countries within the European Union (maximum 180 days per year)

How do you get a Golden Visa in Tenerife?

  • Purchase one or more properties in Tenerife with a single or combined value of at least €500,000
  • Possess health insurance that is valid in Tenerife
  • Prove you have the financial means to support yourself while in Tenerife
  • Have no criminal record or have been refused entry to any member country within the Schengen area

Can my family also obtain Golden Visas?
Yes, your spouse, children and extended family can also apply for visas at the same time.

Can I rent my property?
Absolutely. There are no restrictions on the use of your property as long as they comply with local laws.

Can I sell my property?
Yes, but for the first 5 years the value of your property investment in Tenerife or Spain must remain at or above €500,000.

Does a Golden Visa allow me to work in Tenerife?
No. It’s a residential visa, and does not allow you to work in Tenerife or Spain.
